In 2018-19 the SafeDeposits Scotland team travelled an estimated 12,317 miles across the length and breadth of Scotland to educate and inform landlords, letting agents and tenants on tenancy deposit legislation and what happens when lodging a deposit with a tenancy deposit scheme such as ourselves.

Our travels continue and in recent months we've delivered a training session to Citizens Advice Bureau staff in Orkney, attended landlord and letting agent meetings in locations including Dundee, Edinburgh and Kirkcaldy and hosted our Tenant Conference and Landlord Conference in Glasgow - to name a handful of the trips we've made.

Recently we published details of our next series of Adjudication Workshops, which will see us visit Inverness, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen and Stirling in September and October. Introductory workshops for landlords and letting agents will provide delegates with case studies of real disputes which have been referred to our adjudication service, while refresher sessions - for those who wish to build on their existing knowledge and improve the way they present the case for deposit deductions - will be available in Edinburgh and Glasgow too.

We'll be back in the same five cities - plus Dundee - for the Scottish Tenancy Deposit Academy, working in partnership with Landlord Accreditation Scotland (LAS). This course for letting agents provides a wealth of information for those dealing with the intricacies of managing tenancy deposits. Details of both the Adjudication Workshops and Scottish Tenancy Deposit Academy can be found here.

As the only not-for-profit tenancy deposit scheme based in Scotland we are continually working to ensure we can reach out to as many communities across the country as possible. Keep an eye on our social media channels for details of future engagements as they happen. Next up we are looking forward to meeting students and answering any tenancy deposit queries they may have at the Borders College Welcome Fair in Galashiels next month.
