Scottish Housing Day: Amber's Housing Career Journey

Amber is one of the more recent arrivals at SafeDeposits Scotland, having joined the scheme as a Customer Service Advisor in July of this year. Both she and her colleagues believe she has settled in quickly, and Amber says she feels very much part of the team.

Although SafeDeposits is a new chapter in Amber's career, the housing sector is familiar territory to her having previously worked as an advisor in an estate agency.

"Through my previous roles and experiences it became clear to me that I enjoy working on the frontline, speaking to people, helping them and making their day a little better where I can."

"There are differences between working in an estate agency and working for a tenancy deposit scheme, but they both share a focus on customers. Doing something for others, whether that is helping them find a home or administering their deposit, is one of the rewarding aspects of working in housing."

People are at the heart of what makes an ideal job for Amber. As well as getting to interact with and assist many customers on a daily basis, she enjoys the atmosphere of SafeDeposits where she has been part of a real team effort during the scheme's recent office relocation - surrounded by colleagues who she describes as "nothing short of lovely."
